Nyakach Member of Parliament Aduma Owuor claims his life is in danger.  The legislator made the allegation as Police in Kisumu County launched investigations into an arson incident at his rural home in which his car was reduced to a shell.

Kisumu County Police Commander Titus Yoma confirmed that unknown arsonists attacked Aduma Owuor’s Nyakach home at around 1am and torched his vehicle and a maize store before fleeing the scene of crime.

Yoma said police are following crucial information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

He cautioned residents against speculating about the motive of the attack and instead urged them to volunteer information.

The latest arson attack sparked tension in the area with the residents holding demonstrations and blocking the roads.

Owuor who is the area Member of Parliament pleaded with the police to carry out thorough investigations.

In 2013 Owuor made similar allegations after gangsters killed his parents before setting their house ablaze. At that time Owuor termed the incident as a revenge attack by cattle rustlers.
