Nyanza residents urged to invest in income generating activities

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is challenging Nyanza region residents to invest in income generating activities as a way of attaining economic independence.

The opposition chief was Kisumu County Monday but not on political beat but encouraging the locals to embrace the saving culture.

Raila said many big companies across the world have started on a small scale before going full throttle to the international level.

He spoke as he graced the official opening of the Unaitas Branch in Kisumu.

Unaitas started as a small farmers Tea farmers sacco in Muranga before reaching its current status.

The Kisumu branch is the latest as it seeks to expand across the country.
