Our very own Nyamari Ongegu aka Nyashinski has been featured in Diplo’s New hit single “Stay Open”.

As part of the Global Tuborg Open project, which aims to create the ultimate global collaboration platform for music and culture, Nyashinski teamed up with American DJ and Producer Diplo and Danish singer, songwriter and producer MØ to create the track.

This is not the first time that Diplo has collaborated with Tuborg as he was part of last year’s campaign too. The campaign works in a unique way in that a song is produced and different musicians across the globe get to create new versions of it. This year the song, “Stay Open” was chosen and Nyashinski joined in to rewrite the verses and tell stories of what, ‘Being open’ means to him in line with this year’s project theme.

The Kenyan remix was re-produced by Eric Musyoka of Decimal Records. Nyashinski did not disappoint as he brought the same energy he brings to all his songs as he mixed Swahili and English verses into the single. As usual, he brought the rhyme and flow to the catchy tempo.

The video is already trending on social media and YouTube which comes as no surprise since Nyashinski has been creating bangers from the debut of his song ‘Now You Know’ which has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube and why not? As a lyrical genius who appeals to all ages in the Kenyanscape, he is sure to pull the crowd to his new songs

It’s always a breath of fresh air when we see African artists collaborating with international powerhouses such as Diplo especially since the Kenyan music industry has been slow to pick up the pace with the already booming Nigerian and South African music.

This huge step for Nyashinski comes at the same time he was awarded the YouTube Play Button for reaching 100,000 subscribers during the Google for Kenya event the same week.
