The COVID-19 pandemic is changing how we interact and engage especially in ‘gathering heavy’ situations such as concerts where most artists make a big percentage of their money. As such, online concerts are becoming a big part of our current music culture.

Nyashinski isn’t the first artist to take his music online, Sauti Sol did a #togetherathome concert a few weeks ago, inviting their fans to join them on their Instagram page.

In addition, YouTube last week launched the “Stay home #withme” campaign with a music festival that was streamed live on their platform. The festival featured African artists performing some of their hits via a YouTube live stream for their fans who are currently practising social-distancing to flatten the curve of new coronavirus infections in their communities.

Discussing his upcoming album, Nyashinski said, “This album will be a dedication to my fans all over the world, so I am inviting them to tune in to the live stream on my digital pages (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) as we also do our part to stay #TogetherApart during this time.”

Fans can expect the album to be delivered in Nyashinski’s signature lyrical fashion which provides a peek into the Kenyan society by addressing various social issues whilst also displaying appreciation to them for their support.

Nyashinski’s collaboration with Sauti Sol “Tujiangalie” is one such song that calls out Kenyans for being complacent and celebrating thieves and the corrupt.

The Lucky You album will be available on all digital platforms on the 17th of April 2020.
