Nywele Fest wants you to bring out your funkiest, craziest, hair-do, your best costumes and have a good time!
The Nywele festival has served as a unique platform for Kenyans to showcase the beauty and diversity of their hair. The festival is a place where hair and beauty enthusiasts can creatively showcase their hairstyles, mingle, shop and network.
Nywele Fest will be held this Sunday, 31st October, Halloween. Hence it is dubbed ‘Nyweleween’. This will be its second edition after having a cancellation last year because of COVID. It’s set up to be a fun and spooky time with revelers expected to appear in their funkiest and wildest hairdos. Costumes are expected too.
“We want people to celebrate the hair they have by showing people that their hair makes them who they are. We want people to see their hair as their greatest asset. An asset that enables them to feel royal and prestigious. Just the same way we celebrate royalty, is the same way we should celebrate our hair.” The event’s organisers shared about Nywele Fest’s purpose last year.
The event will be held at Dejavu Lounge in Westlands and starts at 2:00p.m.
