Jesse Okumu and Elizabeth Viiannah won the 100 metres boys under 12 category and the girls under 9 years category respectively at the 2nd edition of the Life time junior and masters swimming championship.
The championship that ended in Nairobi attracted swimmers from eight swimming clubs in the country.
Jesse timed 1 mins 29.56 secs to finish in front of Tyrone Egesa who clocked 2mins 1.90 secs. Daniel Mbuthia finished in the third position timing 2mins 7.28 secs.
In the girls under 9 years category, Elizabeth Viianah emerged victorious clocking 1min 46.02 secs. She was followed by Sylviah Kaari who clocked 2mins 8.03 secs.
Armaan Bains won the boys under 17 years category clocking 1min 42.41 secs.In the boys under 7 years backstroke category, Mwathi Gicheru cruised through to victory after clocking 34.20 secs.
Ahmed Adnaan and Gathuru Ryan finished in the second and third positions after clocking 34.62 secs and 35.78 secs respectively.
The girls backstroke category was won by Lexine Wambui. Winners in various categories received medals and gift hampers.
