Shujaa received a boost in the Vancouver7s squad as Johnstone Olindi joined the team on Monday in Canada.
Olindi has been very instrumental in the team’s performance this season and will provided the much needed spark as the team heads into this sixth leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.
Olindi is currently third in the team’s top point scorers list in the 2018/2019 season with a total of 64 points having scored ten tries and added seven conversions. He is behind Vincent Onyala and Daniel Taabu who have 77 and 70 points to their names respectively heading into the Vancouver7s leg.
Captain Jacob Ojee is fourth on the Kenyan log with 40 points(8 tries) and Cyprian Kuto is fifth with 35 points.
Shujaa is in Pool C alongside Samoa, Fiji and Canada.
They’ll kick off their Campaign on Saturday 9th March at 8:36PM against Fiji, 30 minutes past midnight, Shujaa will take on Samoa before completing their Day one action on early Sunday morning at 3:40am versus the tournament Hosts, Canada.

Shujaa bowed out of the Las Vegas Sevens with five points, leaving them at the 13th position on the standings on 17 points.
After losing its first Pool matches to hosts USA and France in Day 1 in Las Vegas, Shujaa, under the tutelage of Paul Murunga, redeemed itself with two successive wins in Day 2; a 24-19 victory against Argentina in its last pool match and a 28-15 triumph over Japan in the Challenge Trophy Quarter Final.
However, a 24-7 loss to Spain in the Challenge Trophy Semifinal saw Shujaa bow out of the tournament with five points to their name.
