OlympAfrica Sports Complex ground broken, program to benefit Kenyan youth

The construction works of the Olympafrica youth Centre in Ruai, Nairobi County  will begin in the next few weeks after the ground breaking ceremony was done on Tuesday, at the 6 acre  ground.

The Nairobi County government has given Olympics Kenya the land free of charge,  that will be used to construct sporting and social facilities to benefit youth and the community in the region surrounding it.

It will be built under the auspices of OlympAfrica, with the main objective being to provide easily accessible sports for the youth as well as advance social development through sport.

OlympAfrica will provide seed funding, Olympics Kenya and the Kenyan government as well as other stakeholders  will fund the daily operation costs, while the local community will be in charge of its management and support the implementation.

The centre will run basic programmes replicated in other Olympafrica centres spread across the continent. But Focus could be given to popular sports disciplines including Football, rugby, handball and swimming.

The Centre will be constructed at an estimated cost of 350 million Dollars.

About OlympAfrica Centres:

OlympAfrica is an international organization that has been existing for 25 years and has Centers in 35 African countries.
