Peng Liyuan seconds China’s support to Africa in the fight against COVID-19

China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan seconds the support by the Chinese government to the people of Africa in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her written response on Tuesday to the First Lady of the Republic of the Congo and the new president of Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) Antoinette Sassou Nguesso, Liyuan noted that the outbreak of COVID-19 came suddenly, so mutual assistance, solidarity and cooperation between countries is crucial in the fight against this pandemic.

Liyuan revealed that the Chinese government will donate a batch of anti-epidemic materials to 53 African countries through OAFLAD in order to help women, children and adolescents, and also to deepen the friendship between Chinese and Africans.

She thanked African countries for their valuable support to the Chinese people during the difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On her part, Antoinette Sassou Nguesso appreciated China’s role in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Africa.
