Four robbery with violence suspects are in police custody after they were arrested on Monday by the detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based in Nakuru County.
The DCI says the four are out of the five suspects who on the night of 3rd July this year robbed a family of cash worthy 34 thousand shillings and household items and in the process raped the woman of the house in turns after assaulting her husband at Rumwe village in Njoro-Nakuru County.
On its twitter handle the DCI states that the gang which was armed with crude weapons broke into the victims’ house in the middle of the night, ransacked it and therefrom stole cash, a D-light solar panel, gas cooker, a mountain bike, mobile phones among other electronics.
The DCI says that the the arrest of the suspects was triggered by a tip-off through Nyumba Kumi.
The suspects are a 26- year-old William Kihara Ndegwa, David Ng’ang’a Ngure aged 22, Eliud Njoroge and Geoffrey Mwangi both aged 36 were nabbed within Ramwe village.
The DCI added that the first suspect William Kihara had already been subjected to mob justice before officers rescued him from the irate members of the public and took him to hospital under guard.
The DCI further revealed that the suspects are all in lawful custody pending arraignment as manhunt for the fifth suspect continues.
