Kitui Deputy County Police Commander Grace Thuo says police are in possession of 450 kilograms of marijuana which was impounded from the vehicle.

She said officers on patrol noticed the suspicious vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, and flagged the driver to pull over. The vehicle’s back seats had been removed to create more room for the load of narcotics which was concealed under a black polythene paper and a blanket.

“But the driver, upon pulling over, alighted from the vehicle and fled on a boda boda before the officers could reach his car,” she said.
