Police intercept bhang worth Ksh7.4m in Migori

Police officers in Migori have intercepted bhang worth 7.4 million shillings   that was being ferried from Migori to an unknown destination along the busy Kisii – Migori highway.

According the County Commissioner Joseph Rotich, the first consignment of bhang worth 2.3 million shillings was being ferried in a probox vehicle that sped off at a police roadblock prompting police officers to pursue it.

The second consignment was intercepted at Giribe, within Suna west   while it was being packaged in readiness for transportation.

The  commissioner said  that  the war on narcotics  in Migori county has  become  difficult to tackle  since traffickers have  come up with new ways of  packaging  and transporting the drugs.

He however added that   security officers are out in full force to deal with the traffickers.

The two drug consignments weighed   560 kilograms. The suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
