Police launch manhunt for criminal gang

Police in Namanga, Kajiado County have launched a manhunt for a gang of criminals said to be behind the latest spate of robbery incidents in the area.

In the latest incident several homes were broken into and household goods stolen.

It is alleged that the gang of three men also defiled a minor and raped a woman during the six hour ordeal.

Three armed gangsters broke into the home of a renowned business man in the town at 1 am and defiled a 12 year old primary school girl and gang raped a 25 year old female domestic worker.

They left six hours later after stealing money, mobile phones and other valuables from the house.

A resident Ali Hassan Nur a resident of Namanga said more than four houses where raided where victims were also gang raped.

The rape victims recorded statements at Namanga police station and were treated at Namanga health centre.

Area OCPD, James Kimani, confirmed the attack but said only two houses were broken into.

The residents accuse the police of laxity in patrols and expressing concerns over the porous border.
