Police launch manhunt for wife killer in Kwale

Police have launched a manhunt for a man who went into hiding after allegedly killing his wife in Maendeleo Village, Kwale County.

The murder is said to have been committed due to domestic differences. According to Kwale County Commissioner Karuku Ngumo, the suspect, Onesmus Mutuku Kilonzo, reportedly cut his wife on the head before he fled leaving behind a blood stained machete.

He said that the deceased was fatally cut on the head by the husband with a machete following a domestic quarrel over a phone.

Meanwhile, a man, 55, was found murdered in Msaroni Village, Kinango Sub-County. Mwaringa Katana was allegedly hit by a blunt object on the head by his two sons after a disagreement over a cow he wanted to sell.

The two bodies were moved to Kinango Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

Elsewhere, police in Siaya are hunting for a woman who allegedly killed her sister- in – law by hitting her on the head following a domestic quarrel.

According to police, Millicent Ochieng went underground after hitting Peres Achieng Oduo with a blunt object on December 29, last year at Ojwando village, Pap Oriang’ sub location in Siaya.

The two are said to have differed and engaged in a bitter argument before the assailant hit the deceased on the head.

Husband to the deceased Dennis Oduor Okode said his wife collapsed as a result of the impact and was rushed to the dispensary for treatment where she died.

Siaya OCPD, senior superintendent Ancent Kaloki confirmed the incident and called on the public to help the police bring the culprit to book.
