Motorists notified of planned traffic disruptions over UNEA

The National Police Service has notified commuters of planned traffic disruptions on Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Limuru Road between Wednesday and Friday.

This is owing to the presence of several Heads of State and Governments visiting the country to attend the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) as well as the 3rd One Planet Assembly at UN Complex in Gigiri.

In their tweeter handle they urged the motorists to obey directions given by Traffic Police in order to allow our esteemed visitors safe passage to and from various locations in the city.

The fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-4) commenced on 11-15 March 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya, as agreed during UNEA-3 in December 2017 (UNEP/EA.3/L.2).

It is under the overall theme, ‘Innovative Solutions for Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Consumption and Production,’ UNEA-4 will address;

  1. Environmental challenges related to poverty and natural resources management, including sustainable food systems, food security and halting biodiversity loss.
  2. Life-cycle approaches to resource efficiency, energy, chemicals and waste management.
  3. Innovative sustainable business development at a time of rapid technological change.
