Police officer arrested in Kakamega for defiling minor

A police officer attached to Matete Police Station in Kakamega County has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old primary school girl.

The suspect was arrested at a lodging in Chimoi Trading Centre in the company of the minor, who is a KCPE candidate at Makonge Primary School.

The girl’s father had contacted one of the teachers at the school who confirmed that the girl had not reported to school after a tip-off from a boda boda operator.

“My daughter left home for school early in the morning in the company of her younger brother who is in grade four and I am shocked to discover that she had not reported to school,” he narrated.

The boda boda operator then led him to one of the lodgings at the trading center where he found the police officer with his daughter.

Police officers from Matete Police Station after hearing what had ensued rushed to the scene and managed to rescue their colleague from an irate mob that was baying for his blood.

The girl was taken to Matete Health Center for medical examinations where it was confirmed that she was four months pregnant.

“My fear is that the suspect may be set free because he is a police officer, but I am appealing to the concerned authorities to ensure justice for my daughter whose future has been ruined,” he pleaded.

The school headteacher Robert Mandila said the girl is one of the top-performing candidates having scored 320 out of 500 marks in the most recent assessment.
