Police seize over Ksh 102m in fake currency in Githurai

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives based at Ruiru on Wednesday morning impounded over 102 million shillings in fake euros at a house in Githurai Kimbo, Kiambu County.

According to a tweet by  @DCI_Kenya, three suspects; Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni  and Tabitha Muhuha were  arrested and are assisting in further investigations .

A thorough search in the house that was occupied by the three ladies led the detectives to a suspicious locked safe box which they managed to unlock and find the over 880,090 euros (fake) in 100 denominations.

The fake money has been secured and kept as Exhibit.

Last month the DCI also confiscated over 200 million shillings in fake US dollars, euros and pounds in Kileleshwa and arrested one suspect.
