Police warn Boda Boda operators against illegal trade

Police in Samburu County are warning Boda Boda operators against flaunting the law by transporting illicit brews.

The officers say those found ferrying illegal substances will have their motorcycles confiscated permanently.

County Chief Inspector William Sifuna said it has come to the attention of the police that boda boda operators are transporting illicit brews.

Chairman of boda boda association in Maralal town Daniel Leakono in turn urged boda boda operators to clearly identify their customers before being hired at night.

This comes after a boda boda rider went missing in unclear circumstances. It is alleged he was hired to transport a customer only for his body to be discovered in a thicket and his motorcycle stolen.

Chairman of Nyumba kumi initiative Solomon Wanyeki, advised the operators to unite and work observe professionalism in carrying out their mandate.
