Voting in most polling stations across the country has been concluded with vote tallying now expected to commence anytime soon in stations which opened at 6AM.
However, voting in some polling stations which opened late due to logistical challenges and failure by KIEMS kit are yet to be closed with Presiding Officer forced to extend voting hours.
In some polling stations such as Satellite Primary School in Riruta Ward in Dagoretti South Constituency, voters were still queuing 2 minutes before the closing time.
However for some stations like those in Ugunja Constituency, IEBC officials and electroral obersvers were ready for the vote tally from 116 polling stations at Ambira High School Tallying Centre.
At Mara Polling Station in Kipipiri Constituency, at 5PM, voters were still on queues.
Polling time was however extended for twenty minutes at Emurua Dikirr Primary School polling center by Presiding Officer owing to delays in opening the station
In Kisii County, there was a reported low voter turnout at Public Works Yard Ogembo polling station according to Returning Officer Shadrach Ondara.
in Nairobi County, political party agents embarked on confirming the seal tags of the ballot boxes as voting came to close at Kamkunji Constituency, Eastleigh High Secondary School Poling station.
The sealing of ballot boxes is also underway at Kariobangi North Ward, Embakasi North Constituency.
High voter turnout of 70pc as at 4:30PM was however witnessed at Butula Market polling station according to Presiding officer Godfrey Owino.
After the close of polling hours, Ciamanda Primary School polling station in Runyenjes Constituency witnessed long queues as the station opened one hour late at 9AM.
At Malakisi Health Center polling station, Kulisiru South Ward in Sirisia Constituency, voting came to a smooth close with ballot boxes getting officials seals ready for tallying. IEBC officials reported at 64pc turnout.
