Preparations for the 2017 edition of the Africa Cup of Club hockey Championships are complete.
The continental event which has attracted 19 teams from across Africa gets underway this Saturday at the City Park stadium in Nairobi.
According to the Kenya Hockey Union chairman Nashon Randiek, four team two from Nigeria and two from Ghana are yet to arrive in the country for the event.
He said all the Africa Hockey confederation member countries were invited but many didn’t turn up because of financial constraints.
Nineteen teams among them 10 women clubs will take part in the continental competition that ends on the 15th of this month.
The Africa Hockey Federation awarded the hosting rights to Kenya after the Hockey Association of Zimbabwe pulled out of hosting the event due to financial constraints.
Kenya will be represented by four teams including Butali Sugar Warriors and Telkom Orange.
