President Kenyatta declares drought a national disaster

President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared the drought affecting parts of the country a national disaster. President Kenyatta has directed the National Treasury and the Ministry of Interior to spearhead government efforts coordinating distribution of water, relief food and livestock uptake efforts. The national Drought management Authority has warned that more than 2 million Kenyans are facing starvation due to the ongoing drought
