The 120 kilometre standard gauge railway line between Nairobi and Naivasha connects Mombasa through Nairobi to the resort town of Naivasha, where a dry port is under construction to ease the movement of goods.

It has 29 bridges; 6 super-major, 15 major and 8 medium. At 46 metres, Mulua Orkondi in Duka Moja, Narok County, is the tallest of the bridges.

The Nairobi-Naivasha railway line has been under construction since October 2016. The construction of the railway line is being undertaken by the China Communications Construction Company.

It will be operational as from Thursday October 17, 2019.

The Nairobi Expressway Project connects Mombasa Road and Nakuru Highway at Rironi.

It is projected to cost 50 billion shillings and will take 3 years to complete.
