President Kenyatta presides over military pass out parade

President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday presided over a military passing out parade at the Recruits Training School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

During the ceremony, the graduates took the oath of allegiance to serve the country after undergoing an eight month rigorous training programme aimed at converting them from civilians to Kenya Defence Forces soldiers.

During this years event, and for the first time in history the public was barred from attending the colourful event due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Through a statement, the KDF had urged the public to follow the event virtually through public broadcaster KBC.

The event was  Covid-19 compliant with the graduates donning  face masks and observing a 1.5 metre social distance.
