Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, Rachael Ruto is on a tour of Nandi County to mobilize support for the DP ahead of the August 9th election.
Rachael interacted with residents and women at Terik- Kapsengere, and Kobujoi, Aldai Constituency, Nandi County accompanied by Governor Stephen Sang, Deputy Governor Dr. Yulita Mitei and Hon Maryanne Keitany.
She says the incoming Government will support women access finances especially farmers to increase output.
“Women farmers need access to inputs and knowledge of best practices for input application to increase the quality of their yield. This benefits agribusiness enterprises by ensuring a secure quality and sustainable supply of outputs,” she said.
Rachael said it’s unfortunate that Women and small-scale holders are traditionally underrepresented clients for agricultural supplies saying, “Women’s comparative disadvantages compound the impact of limited access to finances, inputs and information, which affects most smallholders to a large extent.
She has urged the region to unite and vote for the Deputy President to the man saying he is the best suited to lead the County.
Governor Sang said having served as DP for ten years, Ruto has the experience and knowhow to change the country by resuscitating the economy and improving the Agriculture sector.
