The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition team Saturday took its campaigns to Meru County, promising to fix the country’s economy by sealing all corruption loopholes.
Addressing a rally at the Kinoru stadium, the coalition’s Presidential candidate Raila Odinga said corruption is a drawback to the country’s growth.
He added that without a proper corruption eradication programme, any pre-election promise given to Kenyans by leaders will not be realized.
He urged area residents to shun leaders who live above their known means and may not honour their promises once elected into office.
Raila’s sentiments were echoed by his running mate Martha Karua, who urged Meru residents to vote in the Azimio coalition since it was the only hope for liberating Kenyans through proper utilization of public funds and slaying corruption.
Karua said her union with the ODM leader is a formidable force that will end the vice, noting they both have a record of protecting public funds.
The leaders promised to promote growth of trade in the county under the agenda of One County, One Product.
Andù ya Meru; muugeni!
The winds of change have swept over Meru County.
Led by captain @RailaOdinga, our promise is to promote growth of trade in the county under the agenda of One County, One Product.
