Rashid Echesa fired from Sports ministry, replaced by Amina Mohamed

In the Executive Order issued from State House Friday morning, President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and replaced him with Amina Mohammed who was at the Education Ministry.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Chairman George Magoha has been nominated to replace Amina.

Six other Principal Secretaries were also re-assigned.

Susan N. Mochache, CBS-Ministry of Health Mr. Ali Noor Ismail, CBS-State Department of Cooperatives Dr. Ibrahim M. Mohamed, CBS-State Department of Environment and Forestry Eng. Peter Kiplagat Tum, OGW-State Department of Labour Dr. Margaret Mwakima, CBS-State Department of East African Community Affairs (EAC) Dr. Susan Koech-State Department of Wildlife.

MRS. Fatuma Hirsi was also fired as a Principal Secretary State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunication.

The President said the changes are aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency and accountability at all levels of Government through a governance structure and leadership that ensures rapid delivery of public services to Kenyans in every part of the Republic.
