Residents surrender 3 guns as security operation in Marsabit continues

The multi-agency security team in Marsabit County has received three Mark 4 rifles as residents continue to surrender illegal firearms.

In pursuit of peace and security in the County, the team conducted intensive patrols within Kargi Division, and received the weapons that had been surrendered to the Chief of Kargi Location by the elders.

In addition, the security team stopped and searched two motor vehicles between Segel and Kargi, where they arrested the drivers and a suspected illegal alien of Ethiopian origin.

The three firearms are in safe custody at Marsabit Police Station, while the arrested persons were handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Marsabit for further investigations.

The security team then proceeded to Parchuma and Turusi areas within Laisamis Sub-County in response to a report of stolen Camels and goats.

They engaged with the community elders from Laisamis led by the area Chief, and laid strategies on how to recover the stolen camels and goats
