Ruto-allied leaders from Rift Valley meet over region’s economic fortunes

A section of leaders drawn from the Rift Valley are currently holding a meeting to deliberate the economic well-being of the region.

The rift valley regional economic forum brings together elected leaders such as Governors, Senators, MPs and MCAs from the vote-rich region and who are allied to the deputy President William Ruto. Also in the meeting are professionals and opinion leaders from the region.

It is expected that at the end of the meeting chaired by Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok, the leaders will have come up with ideas and plans that will lead to the creation of a Rift Valley Economic Charter to be handed to the DP for implementation in the event he ascends to the Presidency after the next election.

The meeting, that is taking place in Maasai Lodge in Rongai, Kajiado County, comes a fortnight after a similar one held by leaders from the Coast region.
