Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza allies have implored the Mt. Kenya region to remain firmly behind the Alliance.
The leaders urged the locals not to buy into the latest charm offensive launched by Martha Karua and the Azimio la Umoja campaign.
In what may seem like an attempt to undo the political work put in by Martha Karua in Murang’a and Nyeri, Ruto wants the region to keep dancing to the tunes of the hustler narrative.
On Saturday the DP and Kenya Kwanza were in Muranga and Nyeri, preaching the bottom-up economic model to locals.
Ruto said his administration would turn around the region’s agricultural fortunes.

The scramble for the Mt. Kenya vote appears to have been intensified by the entry of Martha Karua into the crux of national politics.
Ruto and his allies campaigned in the Karatina Mathira constituency, the very ground that Karua walked on just hours earlier.
