Ruto proposes establishment of National Health Service Commission

Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate Dr. William Ruto has called for the establishment of a National Health Service Commission to address health challenges in the country.

Ruto said that if the Kenya Kwanza coalition forms the next government, the commission will streamline distribution of drugs at both the national and county levels for the benefit of citizens.

During a Kenya Kwanza Health Economic Forum at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, in Nairobi County, Ruto said the National Health Service commission will be mandated to better handle challenges that have riddled the health sector.

The Deputy President blamed poor supply chain of drugs and lack of enough personnel for poor service delivery at health facilities across the country.

The DP also took issue with the structure of medical supplies saying it is prone to plunder public funds.
