Deputy President William Ruto is set to pitch camp in Nyanza this week to woo the region to back his 2022 State House bid.
The DP is returning to ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s Nyanza backyard just a month after a similar visit.
The DP has lined up a series of engagements in his three-day tour of Kisumu, Migori and Homa Bay counties.
Kuria West MP Mathias Robi said the DP just like any other Kenyan is free to visit any part of the country and initiate development projects.
“Ruto is Kenyan and those people who support his ideologies will attend the meetings” the MP stated.
Robi said the DP will land in Kisumu on Tuesday evening where he is expected to host leaders and professionals from Nyanza who have been crafting the region’s blueprint for a meeting.
On Wednesday, his entourage will traverse the lakeside city and thereafter address a rally at the famous Kondele market.
From Kisumu, the DP will make inroads in Migori County where he will preside over youth and women empowerment programmes as well as address several rallies.
He heads to Homa Bay County on Thursday to drum up support for his bottom-up development plan, which he has described as revolutionary and the gateway to economic liberation.
