Samuel Dede wins ODM party ticket for Kisumu North Ward

Samuel Dede will fly the ODM ticket in the Kisumu North Ward by-election slated for December 15th.

Dede emerged victorious in the hotly contested by-election nomination exercise shocking firm favourites Tom Kotieno and former Councilor Benard Muga.

Dede garnered 1461 votes to emerge to clinch the ticket. He will square it out with Ford Kenyan’s Ken Ogada and ANC’s John Ouko in the December mini poll. Achola Simon with the details.

The seat fell vacant following the resignation of Elisha Oraro who was appointed the Kisumu county assembly speaker after the acrimonious ouster of Onyango Oloo on corruption-related allegations.

Several names of registered voters in the ward were missing from the register raising tensions and threatening to throw an otherwise peaceful process into chaos.

Odede will now face ford Kenya’s Ken Ogada and ANCs John Ouko in December by-election.
