Seven people have died in Kinangop, Nyandarua County after the car they were traveling in was swept away by flash floods.
Three women are among the seven who died after the vehicle they were traveling in was swept away by floods along the Maraigushu-Githabai road in Nyandarua County.
Two other men swam their way to safety.
Police assisted by members of the public had to wait for more than two hours for water levels to subside before retrieving the bodies.
According to eye-witnesses the roads became impassable after heavy downpour in the area, causing the driver of the vehicle to loss control.
Njabini OCPD Eliud Monari confirmed said that all the bodies have been retrieved from the scene.

Rescue efforts began early morning with victims being ferried to higher grounds by use of boats.
