Several feared dead in Mandera bus attack

Six people were Friday morning killed after a  convoy of two buses en-route to Mandera from Nairobi were ambushed by suspected Al Shabaab militants.

The attack which took place in Wargadud village targeted passenger buses from Tawakal and E-coach companies.

Unknown number of passengers are said to have sustained serious injuries.

Luckily the driver of one of the buses was able to speed off to a police station in the outskirts of Mandera.

The attack comes barely two weeks after 5 police officers lost their lives after a group of suspected Al shabaab militants attacked their vehicle as they were escorting a bus that was headed for Mandera from Wajir.

In just under a fortnight, a group of suspected Al shabaab militants attacked police officers who were escorting a bus that was headed for Mandera from Wajir.

In the incident, 5 police officers lost their lives.
