Slain university Sharon Otieno to be buried in Homa Bay Friday

The late university student Sharon Otieno who was killed while seven months expectant  will be buried at her Homa Bay home Friday.

The 28-year-old woman was brutally murdered alongside her unborn baby in a crime which has seen the arrest and detention of Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo and an aide Casper Obiero.

Sharon was abducted on September 3RD alongside a local daily reporter but who claimed he jumped out of the car that had abducted them.

Hundreds of mourners have thronged Sharon Otieno grandfather’s home in Magare village in Homabay for her burial.

The DNA analysis that was conducted weeks ago confirmed Obado as the father of the unborn child who was also the victim of circumstances.

On Thursday, Sharon’s body was removed from MED 25 International- Kenya Hospital Mortuary in Mbita and ferried to her grandfather’s home in Magare village, Homa Bay where she will be buried next to the grave of her unborn baby.

In accordance with the Luo traditions, Otieno’s body was brought to their homestead for overnight vigil.

Sharon’s Otieno body who was seven months pregnant at the time she was killed, was found near Kodera forest in Homa Bay on September 4, a day after she was abducted alongside Nation Media Group journalist Barrack Oduor.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado a key suspect in her murder case is still waiting to know his fate at the Industrial Area remand prison.
