Ali Abondo among former internationals undertaking coaching courses
Former Kenyan international Ali Abondo has urged retired players to take up coaching so as to share their wide depth of knowledge acquired during their playing days.
Abondo is among former Kenyan internationals who are undertaking CAF D coaching course organized by the Football Kenya Federation Nairobi East Branch.
The training has attracted a total of 42 upcoming football coaches.
Abondo said former players can combine coaching skills with their own experiences to nurture football talent and help improve the standards of the game in the country.
“Former players have the skills and experiences to make a difference to young players. This can be our way of giving back to the community.”
Abondo, a combative Defensive midfielder began his playing career with Sony Sugar in 2006 before going to turn out for Tusker FC ,Gor Mahia FC, South Africa’s Ajax Capetown and Bandari among others.
FIFA/FKF instructors George Mwangi, and Salim Ali are leading the training that will run for 10 days.
The Federation is also running two other CAF D coaching courses in Trans Nzoia and Kajiado with 25 and 30 coaches respectively.
