Spurs off to a great start in USA tour

By Richard Munga

Tottenham Hotspurs began their pre season tour of the United States on a high after Stunning strikes from Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderwerield saw the North London side come from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain 4-2 in their International Champions Cup clash in Orlando.

Tottenham Hotspurs made a bad start to the game, conceding in 6 minutes as American Cameron Carter-Vickers was caught out by Rabiot on the counter, who played the ball across the box for Edinson Cavani to stroke home and put PSG ahead.

However a moment of magic in Orlando from Christian Eriksen brought Spurs level.

Spurs would move ahead minutes later, as Eric Dier scored an unconventional goal as he diverted Trapp’s clearance into the back of the net.

PSG levelled with 36 minutes on the clock through Javier Pastore, but Toby Alderweireld fired home from distance to put Spurs 3-2 ahead on the night.

Harry Kane scored Spurs’ 4th from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile Neymar scored twice as Barcelona beat Juventus in a pre-season friendly in front of a crowd in excess of 80,000 at the MetLife Stadium.

Giorgio Chiellini pulled a goal back for the Bianconeri after the break but Neymar had already done the damage in the first period.

Elsewhere Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah were on target for Liverpool as they beat Leicester 2-1 to win the Premier League Asia Trophy.
