Sports stakeholders in the country have been urged to exploit other means of Sports Funding instead of relying on the Government.
Led by Kenya Academy of Sports Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Oluoch, stakeholders drawn from all sports disciplines Monday began a Three Day Sports Conference, the first of its kind, which is meant to discuss challenges facing Sports in Kenya.
In a bid to kick start a forum where stakeholders can discuss challenges facing sports in the country, as well as coming up with suitable solutions, the Kenya Academy of Sports hosted a conference to discuss among others; sports management and role of academies in the Country.
Kenya Academy of Sports chairman, Paul Tergat, adding that the stakeholders should exploit new frontiers for transforming lives through sports.
The three day event which is meant to be held annually, hopes to help the Government and sports federations coordinate better in promoting sports in Kenya.
