Harambee Stars winger Paul Were was handed a starting role as his Greek Super League side Kalloni held hosts Xanthi to a barren draw in a tough league match played at the Skoda Xanthi Arena.

The speedy winger who has been called up to the national soccer team Harambee Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of nations 2017 qualifier against Guinea Bissau away on the 23rd of March played for 55 minutes before being replaced by Giorgos Xydas.

It was the seventh match for Were who has now fully established himself at Kalloni.

The draw was not enough as Kalloni sit bottom of the log with 15 points while Xanthi lie in mid table with 31 points.
