Supreme Court set to deliver detailed judgement on Raila’s Presidential petition

The country’s highest court has confirmed that it will issue a detailed judgement on why it threw out the Presidential petition lodged by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition candidate Raila Odinga on Monday afternoon.

In a notice to the public Saturday evening, Judiciary registrar L.M Wachina indicated that the seven apex court judges have finalized writing the full verdict on the petition which they objected citing lack of concrete evidence to overturn President William Ruto’s win as declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

“Take notice that the reasons for judgment of the court that was delivered in this petition on the 5th day of September 2022 will be delivered on Monday the 26th September 2022 at 2:30pm through email,” said Wachira

The nation awaits an in-depth rationale behind the verdict at a time Raila and his running mate Martha Karua have already said they do not agree with the judges’ unanimous decision to validate their rival’s election. They however said they respect the court.
