This weekend, on June 30th, will mark the 11th year of the Swahili Fashion Week event.

Swahili fashion Week is one of the biggest annual fashion events in East and Central Africa. The event was created by Pan African couturier, Mustafa Hassanali in 2008 in order to provide a platform for fashion designers and personalities from Swahili speaking countries and beyond to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with clientele and the international fashion industry. The event is held in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi.

This year’s event will be held on June 30th at the InterContinental Hotel, Nairobi. The showcase begins at 7.30 pm.
Tickets: VIP Front Row Seat KES 5,000/-, Advance KES 2,000/- and at the gate KES 3,000/-. The showcase aims to be a celebration of the success of our local fashion industry while working on taking the industry to the next level.

Some of this year’s categories include ‘fashion blogger of the year’, ‘stylist of the year’, ‘male & female models of the year’, and ‘fashion accessories designer of the year’.
