Tension is high in Kiserian area in Baringo South following banditry attack

Tension is high in Kiserian location, Baringo South constituency in Baringo County after suspected Pokot raiders attacked a General Service Unit camp on Sunday night.

Witnesses said more than 100 bandits suspected to be from Tiaty Sub-County attacked Kiserian GSU camp and some homes.

Heavy security detail has been deployed to the area to conduct a major operation and arrest the bandits.

Meanwhile, in the nearby Loruk area, Anti-Stock Theft Unit- ASTU- police are currently pursuing other raiders who made away with unknown number of animals towards Pokot East.

The attack comes just four days after several bandits attacked a Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) camp, seriously injuring one Administration Police officer before setting ablaze an AP lorry.
