Three Cabinet Secretaries summoned over claims of plotting to harm DP

Three Cabinet Secretaries from Mt. Kenya region have denied claims that they were plotting to harm deputy president Dr. William Ruto.

The Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya of Trade and Industry, Joseph Mucheru of Information Communication and Technology and Sicily Kariuki of Health say they were summoned by Directorate of Criminal Investigations but did not record statements as the Deputy President has not filed a formal complaint.

Addressing the press outside  DCI headquarters trade and industrialization CS Munya  termed the claims as malicious.

Munya said they were informed by DCI detectives that the complainant had made a call and complained that some cabinet secretaries together with other senior government officers have been meeting and planning to harm him.

Munya denied ever having a meeting to hatch any scheme to harm the DP or any other person.

However, he confirmed that they have been meeting on an agenda to accelerate development in Mount Kenya region, and vowed to continue meeting.

CS  Munya said there is nothing unusual or sinister for people from a particular region in this country to hold meetings.
