Three Gor Mahia fans die in Mlolongo accident

Three Gor Mahia fans perished when the vehicle they were traveling in was involved in an accident at Mlolongo along Mombasa road.

According to eye witnesses the fans were hanging on the minibus they were travelling in when the accident occurred.

They were among a group that was headed to Kenyatta stadium in Machakos County for their team’s Kenya Premier League match against Thika United.

Separately eight people died Saturday in two separate road accidents in Machakos and Mlolongo.

The eight lost their lives at Muambi area along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway in Machakos County.

The accident that happened around 2:30 AM and involved a Nairobi bound matatu and a trailer that was headed in the same direction.

Six people are said to have died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at Machakos level 5 Hospital.

Four other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Motorists are being urged to exercise caution on roads due to poor visibility occasioned by heavy rains in most parts of the country.
