Timothy Cheruiyot shakes off injury to win 1,500m title at Gold Tour

World 1500 champion Timothy Cheruiyot shook off a nigling hamstring injury  to win the men’s 1500m race during the World Athletics Continental gold tour at Nyayo National stadium.

Cheruiyot posted 3 minutes 34.31 seconds to cross the finish line first  ahead of Kumari Taki who was placed second in 3 minutes 35.00 s4econds while Kipsang Abel was third in 3 minutes 35.43 seconds.

Speaking after the race Cheruiyot said, ‘’I was not fir not feeling well because I was having a hamstring injury  but i am happy because I won the race’’.

Cheruiyot has had an imperious season posting impressive times in the three races he has taken part in.

He won the opening round of the abridged 2020 Diamond League circuit in Monaco before winning in Stockholm and Doha.
