Eleven-time Champions Tusker Fc moved to third place on the Kenya Premier League standings after narrowly beating Zoo Kericho 1-0 in the sole league action played on Sunday.
Timothy Otieno scored in the 36th minute via a penalty at Kericho Green Stadium to hand the Robert Matano led side a crucial win that put them on level with second placed Gor Mahia on 22 points, three points adrift of leaders Mathare United.
Zoo’s loss puts them in a precarious situation as they sit 13th , two points off relegation zone. Mathare United tops the league standings on 25 points, three ahead of defending Champions Gor Mahia.
Bandari FC and Sofapaka lie fourth and fifth respectively.
Meanwhile,three Kenyan Premier League matches are on card Monday afternoon across different stadia within the country.
Ulinzi Stars which sits at the 11th position on the log table with 13 points will lock horns with Western Stima at Afraha stadium in Nakuru.
Ulinzi has won two matches drawn in seven and lost in three matches in 12 league games it has played so far.
Western Stima is at the 6th position with 19 points having won five games drawn in four and lost in one league match in 10 games so far.
Mt Kenya United which is placed second from the bottom position with 9 points only from 12 matches will host 12th placed KCB at Machakos County stadium.
Sony Sugar will host Chemelil Sugar at Awendo Green stadium in another match encounter.
Sony is at the 9th position on the league table with 15 points while Chemelil sits at the 16th position with 9 points.
