Two armed robbers gunned down in Ukunda

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have Friday morning gunned down two armed and dangerous criminals in Ukunda, Kwale County.

The two who defied orders to submit themselves to officers on patrol are believed to be part of a criminal gang, behind the spate of robberies that have rocked Diani township and its environs in recent days.

The criminals were armed with all manner of weapons including knives, machetes and an imitation of a firearm.

The DCI through their official Twitter handle says ballistic experts are currently examining to determine whether the gun recovered is capable of firing.

Also recovered were assorted cell phone handsets, believed to have been stolen from victims of crime.

Scenes of crime personnel documented the scene, while the bodies of the duo were moved to Kwale Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending identification

The DCI encourages members of the public, to report any incidences of crime through our Toll-Free number 0800 722 203 for expeditious action.
