Police probe hospital over botched jab

Police are investigating a suspected case of medical negligence after two children who received a BCG jab had to be operated on.

The families of the two infants recorded statements with police in Karuri following the incident.

One of the infants had to be amputated on the hand and leg after he was administered with the lethal jab.

The families of the infants below 6 months are demanding justice and answers as to what could have caused the misfortune on their children.

The parents of the two are accusing Kihara sub county hospital management of being insensitive to their plight saying they are yet to receive any concrete answers as to what could have led to the unfortunate events.

Police confirmed that they have received the complaints and investigations launched.

Children rights activists who were at the police station have called on the police to speed up investigations and have the administering nurse cited for medical negligence.
