Two Kenyans believed to be spying for an Iranian terror group arrested

Two Kenyan citizens have been arrested by police in connected with an Iranian spy ring.

The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said the two, Abubakar Sadiq 69 years old and Yassin Juma, 25 years old who have been frequenting Iran were to be contact persons for a foreign spy agency in the Country and were to play an active role in mounting terror attacks on Nairobi and Western interests in Kenya.

The two suspects are helping the police to unearth the underground mission of the said Iranian spy ring.

Abubakar is a senior figure in Nairobi Shiite community. According to police sources, he was arrested on October 29 after a long intensive police investigation.

He admitted recruiting young Kenyans to spy and mount terror attacks in Nairobi. He was working on behalf of the Qods Force, the clandestine overseas military wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which carries out the terror activities worldwide.

Juma on the other hand is one of the students recruited by Sadiq. During the probe, Sadiq also divulged to the investigators that he arranged for Juma to travel to Iran and introduced him to the Qods Force contact, nicknamed “Parsa”.

“Parsa” subsequently gave Juma a set of tasks and Western targets for future terror attacks in Nairobi.  Police arrested Juma on the November 19, upon his returned to Nairobi after having undertaken some military training in Iraq.

Meanwhile, Police also asked members of the public to provide any information on British terror suspect Malik Yassin whereabouts that would lead to his arrest.

Police suspect that Malik Yassin is one of the Al-Shabaab foreign fighters of British origin.

Another British Al-Shabaab foreign fighter was Thomas Evans – who was killed in the foiled attack on Baure Kenya Defence Forces Camp in Lamu. Malik Yassin is a British of Caucasian complexion.

He has dark brown hair and brown eyes. To disguise his appearance he may have shaved his beard, he may have shaved his hair or both. He is tall, slender and speaks with a British accent.
