Two LPG facilities raided for contravening regulations

More Gas in Industrial area and Tex Gas in Ruiru which are licensed LPG facilities had been refilling and trading in LPG cylinders without authorization from the respective brand owners.

Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) in a joint operation with officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives over the weekend raided two licensed LPG facilities in Nairobi and Kiambu County for contravening LPG rules and regulations.

During the operation, assorted LPG cylinders were discovered and upon comprehensive investigations the two facilities were shut down pending further investigation and arraignment of culprits in court to be charged in accordance with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Regulations 2019.

Further the authority has urged members of the public to be vigilant and immediately report cases of malpractices.
